The Kansas Highway Patrol says 71-year-old Elizabeth Douglass Baker died just before 9 p.m. Sunday while she was heading west on I-70. Officials say Baker was traveling close to the minimum posted speed limit when she was rear ended by a Ford Econoline Van near Rain Road. The impact caused her Ford Expedition to go off into the ditch and roll. Douglass Baker was taken to Abilene Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the van, identified as a man from Aurora, Colorado was treated for possible injuries. Douglass Baker was not wearing a seatbelt.
