The Cowgirls led 30-26 after three quarters and got up by as many as 7 in the final quarter only to watch Wamego close the gap to one on a Freshman, Paige Donnelly 3-pointer with 4.3 seconds remaining.  The Lady Red Raiders would get a steal and get off a shot at the end of the game from Senior, Kenzie Underwood, but she missed.  Wamego dropped to 4-4, 2-2 with the loss to Abilene.

The Cowgirls were led by Willey, who finished with a game high 17 points.  Sophomore, Abi Lillard, poured in a career high 12 points and Senior, Sydney Burton finished with 10.

The Cowboys defeated Wamego for a fourth straight time Tuesday night.  Abilene jumped out to a 11-2 lead and never looked back.  The Cowboys led 13-9 after 1, 30-20 at halftime, and 49-35 after 3 quarters.  Abilene led by as many as 23 points in the final quarter.  The Cowboys improved to 5-2, 3-1 while Wamego fell to 3-5, 1-3 on the season.

Abilene was led by Freshman, Kaleb Becker with 14 points.  The Cowboys also got 11 apiece from Seniors, Damian Hartman and James Mayden.  Wamego was led by Senior, T.J. Fritz  with 20 points in the loss.

Abilene will travel to Clay Center Friday night.  The girl’s game will be the marquee matchup as both teams are undefeated.  The Cowgirls are #4 in 4A and the Lady Tigers are #2 in 3A.  Clay Center was off Tuesday night.
