Abilene Superintendent retiring

John AndersonMarch 14, 2018

After 32 years in education, Abilene Superintendent of Schools Denise Guy is retiring effective June 30, the end of the current school year. The board of education accepted her retirement Monday night following an executive session. Rather than attempt to hire a new superintendent before the next school year, which begins July 1, the board consulted with Brian Jordan from the Kansas Association of School Boards and decided to hire an interim superintendent for the 2018-19 school year.
