The Junction City Police Dept. says it is searching for three men in connection with an attempted homicide late Thursday night at a motel. Authorities say all three suspects hail from Abilene and should be considered armed and dangerous. They were identified as Cody Breeden, 24; Jeremy Breeden, 28; and an unidentified individual. They initially identified Jeremy Garza as one of the suspects but have now ruled him out. In his place they released a photograph of the unidentified suspect. One Manhattan woman, Morgan Fabre, has already been taken into custody following the shooting, police said. The 19-year-old is being held without bond at the Geary Co. Jail. She was arrested on counts of: Conspiracy to Commit Premeditated First-Degree Murder; Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Robbery; Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Battery; Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Assault, and; Criminal Threat. CPD says officers responded around 11:15 p.m. to the Motel 6, in the 1900 block of Lacy Drive, on a report that someone had been shot. There, they found the victim, identified as Trenton Penn, of Minneapolis, Kansas.
Police said the Minneapolis man had to be flown via LifeFlight to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, where he is stable condition. Investigators say the shooting happened in a hotel room after a fight between the occupants of the room and people who arrived shortly before the shooting.
